It's been such a positive experience and I was so determined and focused and confident. On the Saturday, I shot a 1200 (exactly!) for the Metric 3, a PB and a new county record (sorry Amy!). I felt I could have shot better too but I knew all my energies were going into the Sunday. I was 11th on that day, just one place out of my target of a top ten.
For Sundays Bristol round, I shot a another PB of 1203 (out of a possible 1296) to give me that 4th place. I never shot less than 3 golds in any end and that score included a miss when I shot through my clicker after mistaking the click from the archer next to me! Oops. I am so happy to get into the top 5 in the country though. My goal at the start of the year was a top ten finish so 4th is just awesome. Just want to say, the 3 girls above me in the placings are so awesome and shot brilliantly and have also made appearances on the GB Junior Team! Amy Gott, who came 3rd, is my bestie and academy team mate so I'm chuffed for her too.
I felt really strong throughout the entire weekend and my shoulder didn't complain once! On Saturday evening after the shoot, I spent some time correcting a couple of flaws that had crept in over the day such as my right elbow dropping on the release. This definitely helped me the next day. As I'm 16 in November, this was probably the last time I will shoot at the Met 3 / Bristol 3 distances and it was a brill way to move up categories.
Thank you to everyone for supporting me - everyone down at the club, friends, family, sponsors (please visit my sponsors page! - they're all great!). Onwards and upwards now!
