Well what an afternoon! 😂 I was so honoured to be invited to be the special guest at my old primary schools sporting assembly, where I was able to give a little speech about archery, answer some questions as well as being their lady paramount for the certificates! A truly humbling and liberating moment considering the last time I had to stand up in a primary school assembly was when I was too shy and was most definitely crying. 😂 a massive thank you to an amazing primary school for having me back for the event 💗

So my time at the world championships has come to an end. It's been a real tough ass week but completely worth it. The first day at the unmarked I shot really strong shots and shot only 2 points below my PB and ranked 7th. Marked was even tougher. It was a really hard part of the course with steep slopes and a lot of walking (and I mean, A LOT) and even had difficult weather, and because of this my score wasn't exactly where I wanted it to be but I think overall my score was pretty decent and I ranked 7th. The eliminations was probably my better day. I started off with a wee wobble (bit of the old nerves) but apart from that I shot absolutely awesome and won my first match! My second match I shot even stronger and handled my nerves really well, having a strong mental game along with strong shots, but unfortunately I lost out at the last minute after a dodgy 10m bunny! Other than losing to a former world champ I'm actually so proud of my individual performance and I am now ranked 7th in the world I think 😂 as for the team matches me, Sophie and Rebecca were ranked 2nd meaning we got an automatic bye into the semis, which we unfortunately lost 😂 in the end the three of us finished 4th in the world for junior women teams. I wasn't really happy with my shooting in both matches; I was honestly gutted to lose but the experience had taught me a lot about what I need to work on, and I guess despite today I am really happy with my shooting ☺️ overall I have actually enjoyed my first worlds, I've met some incredible people and have learnt a lot and I honestly can't wait for the next one! I just want to thank everyone for all the lovely comments, it means so much to me and even though I've not had chance to reply to all of them they have meant a lot ☺️ also a big thank you to Merlin Archery for all their support - especially at the last minute trip I had to make the day before I flew out 😂 and also a big thank you to the parents, who've watched my scores all week and supported and have kept sending me wee supportive texts before my matches ☺️😘😂
So my second national intercounties is over! Despite getting horrifically sunburnt on my legs I had an amazing time. Last year at the event I had my first break down, so my goal was to just not do that again and enjoy myself 😂individual qualifying was okay, a good place to start back and my shots were strong so I can't complain. In the head to heads though me, Shelley and Bev shot awesome together and had such a laugh, winning our first match 6-0 before we came up against Warwickshire (who went on to win the whole tournament - you shot so well guys!! ☺️) so we finished 6th. A couple of equipment issues dropped my arrow scores down but aside from that, I had so much fun and shot awesome with the team ☺️ day 2 was pretty damn awesome! Shot really strong throughout the day and ended up with a PB at 60, and finished 9th out of the ladies! Was quite shocked as I didn't expect that, but still really happy ☺️ overall the Yorkshire ladies didn't win but I had such a laugh this year especially with Bev and Shelley, who kept me going when I just wanted to lie down and have a nap 😂 looking forward to picking shooting back up properly now and getting stronger ☺️ a huge congrats to the whole of Yorkshire for shooting so well this weekend! And a big thank you to my sponsors at Merlin Archery for their continued support!!
(📸: awesome team manager Richard Hudson and awesome photographer Malcom Rees 😉😂☺️) #merlinarcherydurham #watchyournocks #wateroffaducksback #straightouttayorkshire Finally finished shooting the Yorkshire weekend and I'm so pleased to say I've come away as Yorkshire Senior Lady Champion! I was pretty tired from the endless weekends of shooting I've done but I shot strong regardless, only having a couple of wonky arrows at 80 which was okay. I ended up shooting a PB for a Hereford as well as my second master bowmen score of the season! It was very tight today between me and Shelley who shot really well! I've had such a laugh with you and Gwen this weekend so I can't thank you enough 😌probably the highlight of this weekend was seeing Steve who I've not seen in ages as well as Amy, Lynda and Baby Isabella coming to visit! Really made my day and it was lovely to see you! ☺️ a big shout out to the lads and Niamh who've kept me laughing all day as well as my mum (who has not seen me shoot a comp since January so I'm so glad you came to see me today 😌) and dad for supporting me, as well as a huge thank you to my sponsors at Merlin Archery for their endless support! ☺️ congrats to everyone who shot and hopefully see you all soon! ☺️

Please visit his Facebook page) #MerlinArcheryDurham #ladsontour #yorkshirelads Well what an interesting day at the Yorkshires 😂 today was my first 1440 that I've shot in a year (also my first target shoot since October) and I can honestly say I did pretty well 😂 I achieved PB's for 70, 60, and 50 metres as well as claiming an overall PB of 1199 - ONE POINT OFF OF 1200!! 😭 I also claimed first in the senior ladies as well as claiming highest distance awards at 70, 60, 50 and 30 metres! I also achieved my senior master bowmen score and came away with my first senior 6-gold-end at 70 woo ☺️ to say that I've not shot 70 or a 1440 round in just over a year is incredible. I've just stuck to shooting field which has helped me millions (physically and mentally) and I'm just so shocked at the improvements I have made! It's been so lovely being back shooting target and I honestly can't wait to do more! 😂😉 I just want to thank literally everyone today for such a wonderful shoot (despite the crappy rain lol) as well as my dad who had me laughing every minute of the day, and I also want to thank my lovely sponsors at Merlin Archery for all of their continued support, thank you!! A big shout out though to Shelley, who not only shot well today but let me use her scope to spot my arrows (because my binoculars have officially had it and I can no longer see through them lol 🙃). Looking forward to tomorrow for the championships as well the rest of the season ☺️ well done to everyone who shot today! ☺️
#merlinarcherydurham #Ishouldveshota10 I'm so pleased to say after a boiling hot and long weekend at Overton, I'm officially the Senior Lady British Field Champion of 2018! First day I shot really strong coming in with a fairly decent score that ranked me 2nd by one point, and then today, despite the roasting weather and the steep slopes, I shot really strong and managed to take first despite being neck and neck all day with Kayleigh and Lisa! I'm so happy with my shooting this weekend, last weekend I was on a bit of a low and I'm so so pleased with how my process and shooting turned out overall. Overton lived up to expectations and was a bit tough but it has put me in really good spirits knowing I can handle tough courses along with almost-hurricanes and boiling hot sun ☺️ thanks to Kayleigh and Lisa for such a lovely day today, it was tense at times and I had such a laugh with you guys. I also want to thank my lovely sponsors at Merlin Archery for all their support they have given me the past year and a bit ☺️ I know I always thank so many people in my posts but I'll keep this quick, but I just want to thank my parents as I really don't thank them enough. You guys live such stressful lives and you rush about like mad, but you have supported me with everything and I can't thank you enough for everything you have done, I love you lots ❤️ a huge congratulations to everyone who shot this weekend! Hopefully see you all soon, now looking forward to my first target shoot at Weatherby and then my exams (yay 🙃)
#MerlinArcheryDurham #hurricanetortilla #tired Well Daventry was interesting 😂 honestly not my best weekend shooting but definitely enjoyed it and learnt a lot! Despite not shooting at my usual standard I still managed to come home as Senior Lady English Champion and 3rd in the John Hartfield Memorial competition! A good weekend with lots to learn and focus on after my exams as well as having a laugh beating Dad and Luke at Bowls Saturday night 😉 well done to everyone who shot over the weekend and successfully managed to survive the heat! Also a massive thank you to my sponsors Merlin Archery for your support!
#merlinarcherydurham #nervesofsteel #itsmint Good weekend at Ballands! First time shooting the course and it went pretty decent! Unmarked day was fairly decent and I shot alright, however today on the marked wasn't so good. After (foolishly) sitting in proper strong sunlight I started to feel quite ill and didn't shoot as strong as I could've for the next few targets. But apart from this my mental process was good and my shots were very strong and I eventually recovered and brought it back. Overall a decent weekend with a good score, as well as continuing to get better mentally by overcoming small obstacles that are no longer an issue for me, so it's been a pretty decent weekend in total ☺️😌 would just like to thank Lizzy Rees and the rest of Ballands crew for holding an amazing shoot! Some really good shots in the course and lovely scenery (as well as making cracking cuppas at the tea tent 😉😂). Would also like to thank my target companions Michaela, Victoria and John for a good weekend as well as looking after me when I felt like I was going to faint 😂😭 a HUGE thank you to Gloria and Gerald for letting me and my dad stay with them for the weekend, you've helped us out loads and have supported us both (with shooting and non-shooting things) and I can't thank you enough! Also (I have a lot of people to thank 😂) a huge thank you to my sponsors at Merlin Archery Durham for their support! When I had to do an emergency visit up there for some extra bits it was such good service and it was lovely to see everyone! Was seen to straight away and it's such lovely staff, so thank you for everything you're a huge help ☺️ thanks to dad for the photos, Luke for just being Luke (lol) and Colin for the bants 😂 was a really nice weekend and was great to see everyone! Bring on the next shoots and then exams 😂😭💪🏻
#merlinarcherydurham #itsscone #itsmint I didn't have any photos of me shooting so here's a photo of me and Luke prior to the escapade of ordering a bloody desert at the pub 😂😂😂 but a pretty good weekend at SCAS! After a tough couple of weeks of light training, coursework deadlines and exam revision, my intention for the weekend was to just shoot my shots and have a laugh at a course I'd never done before - which I did 😂 my unmarked day was pretty decent despite silly mistakes being made, however my marked day was phenomenal and the best I have ever shot, resulting in a PB for the marked round and a PB for the two rounds combined, as well as getting me another selection score for the world champs ☺️ this weekend has been so much fun despite the weather and has taught me great deal about field, so lots of lessons learnt. It's an amazing course with some tricky but awesome shots and lovely woodlands! One of my favourite places to shoot and a definite recommend if they put on the shoot again ☺️ a really good weekend with good old dad, Rob, Luke, Will, Lethal Fairbs and Dan as well as my target companions and pretty much everyone who went to the shoot 😂 despite the lack of training my technique and shot process feels amazing, so looking forward to my next field shoots despite the inevitable 6 weeks of stressful and awful revision for my exams woo 😂🙃 a big thank you to my lovely sponsors at Merlin Archery Durham for their support! Well done to everyone who shot at at SCAS and Pentref too! ☺️
#merlinarcherydurham #normalfishandchips So today at the Yorkshire Indoors wasn't what I hoped, however, I am very happy with my process and came away 2nd in the ladies....by one point! Although my score wasn't what I wanted I shot amazing-feeling shots and my mental process was brilliant, which is all I can ask for really ☺️ a year ago I was seriously ill and even though I didn't really want to shoot, I shot brilliant, but this year even though the score wasn't there, I'm healthy, happy, and my process was the best! Just one of those days really ☺️ would like to thank Kev for the physio session earlier this week and all the other advice you have given me, as well as Amy and Patrick for all your technical and mental support. Would also like to thank my lovely sponsors Merlin Archery for your support throughout the year too! Overall it has been amazing day, had a lot of laughs and catch ups with everyone and am buzzing for the outdoors ☺️
